About

A FEW WORDS ABOUT US

The Pavilion Café was the brainchild of a group of local people who saw it as a way not only of providing a community resource for a village which had lost its pub but also of contributing to the upkeep and improvement of the recreational field on which it is based. It has succeeded on both counts since first opening for business in 2014 with grant aid from the Rural Support Fund,  Ashton Hayes Parish Council and Ward Councillor Eleanor Johnson.

We're delighted to have been nominated  for a Countryside Alliance Award, dubbed the  'rural Oscars', which  honour the skills and produce, tradition, enterprise and people who go the extra mile for their communities.

Our café's guiding aim is to be accessible to local people of all ages. We're grateful to Ash-worth Time Bank which  manages a network of volunteers who provide transport for older people and those at risk of social isolation and loneliness.

The café committee, entirely made up of volunteers, oversees the running of the café and  is a sub committee of AHSRA which manages the field and Pavilion.
